Thy Kingdom Come
Wave of Prayer
25th May - 4th June 2017
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
The hope is that:
- people will commit to pray with God’s world-wide family - as a church, individually or as a family;
- churches will hold prayer events, such as 24-7 prayer, prayer stations and prayer walks, across the UK and in other parts of the world;
- people will be empowered through prayer by the Holy Spirit, finding new confidence to be witnesses for Jesus Christ
There are different ways you can join in in our parish:
Plan to pray for family, friends and neighbours.
Plan to pray for the Mission Priorities of the Church.
See our Prayer cards, where you can write who and what you are praying for.

Prayer Spaces and Services during the week in our churches

We will also have special prayer spaces in each church, which will be available in the half hour before weekday Eucharists and on Sundays before and after worship.

We are asking you to invite friends along to church on this day. These services will be geared towards those who are visiting or have come in response to an invitation from others. We seek to welcome people to inclusive, living worship, in which we can all discover God’s welcome to us.
