The Bishop of Southwark’s Lent Call 2022

Bishop Christopher has taken these words from the prophecy of Isaiah as the theme for this year's Lent Call, "My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest" (Isaiah 32: 18).
In our world today so many people do not have peaceful dwelling places or secure homes and this is as true for some in our own Diocese as it is for many in our Link Dioceses in Zimbabwe and Jerusalem. The projects chosen for the Lent Call this year work with those who need help around housing across the three Episcopal Areas. In addition, we are asking for your support for work to provide homes, shelter and food for those affected by the economic situation and natural disasters brought about by climate change in our four Link Dioceses in Zimbabwe and the displaced in Beirut in our Link Diocese in Jerusalem.

Projects in the Diocese of Southwark:
Nightwatch
Renewed Hope, Redhill
Robes
Greenwich Winter Night Shelter

Projects in Zimbabwe:
The money raised will go towards initiatives supporting people dispossessed by poverty, environmental disasters and the pandemic in our Link Dioceses of Central Zimbabwe, Matabeleland, Masvingo and Manicaland.

Projects in the Diocese of Jerusalem:
The money raised will help All Saints Church in Beirut to feed 100 families displaced by ongoing humanitarian crises.

Further information and the Lent Call blog can be found on the Diocese of Southwark website and information about each project will be displayed in each of the churches along with resources for prayer.  It is possible to give to the Lent Call at any of the three churches or you could make an online donation.
