Learning & Growing

There is a saying that 'faith is caught, not taught'. On this page you can find out how to approach it both ways - in groups and by activities.

House group
A house group runs on alternate Tuesday evenings, 8.00 - 9.30pm.
We meet informally to learn, study, discuss, debate and share thoughts and ideas about our faith, as well as spending time praying together.  Everyone welcome.

Further details from Barbara Skilton via Director of Music on the Contacts page.

T3 Toddler drop-in

Our weekly drop-in toddler group is called T3 (Trinity, Tots and Toys).  We meet on Tuesday mornings 9.30-11.30.

This group offers a friendly environment to meet other parents and carers and to let the children play.  There is no Christian programme running but Sarah Hawtin is usually there and is available to chat, to discuss issues of faith, or to offer support and prayer.  Those who come to T3 often also attend Early Service for young children and their carers (9 a.m, 3rd Sunday in the month, at Holy Trinity Church).

Because some weeks we have so many people wanting to attend T3, we have a ticketing system so that the room does not become too overcrowded. There are 25 tickets available on a first come first served basis (this is 25 tickets for adults with up to 2 children). Tickets may become available again later in the morning as some people leave.

Green Group

Calling all those who care for our planet! We are keen to expand Holy Trinity's 'Green Group'. There is a particular focus on climate change:
- within the church (building, Sunday School, choir, PCC etc)
- as a congregation
- within the wider community (including the Holy Trinity and Priory schools).

If you wish to be involved in greening your gospel and getting the whole church on board, please contact us via the the Contacts page

Book Group

Purpose: The Book Group meets to discuss the book selected for reading during the previous month

Who's it for?
Anyone who reads and wants to share their reading with others.

Meets: monthly at 8.00pm
BOOK GROUP meets at 8pm on Thursday 16 September to discuss "The Book of Margery Kempe", (Penguin Classics, introduced by Barry Windeatt), the autobiography of a 14th century Norfolk woman, and on Thursday 21 October to discuss "According to Queenie" by Beryl Bainbridge, the story of Dr Johnson's relationship with Hester Thrale (of Streatham - local interest!).
You are very welcome to join us; we'd also be very interested in any recommendations you have of books to read. For further details, or to pass on any suggestions, please contact Jenny Harper via the Parish Administrator - see the Contact Us page.

Friday Group

Purpose: The Friday Group meets to to read, think, discuss and learn about our faith. We see the group as a very informal 'Bible basics learning experience'.

Meets: every two weeks on Friday mornings, 9.30-11.15am, in school terms.
Venue: Holy Trinity Church, in St Peter's Chapel (up the stairs by the grand piano)

Church Lending Library

Our Lending Library is in the Reception Area in Holy Trinity Church. All the books there can be borrowed. They are regularly changed to reflect church seasons and current topics.

The library is free. All we ask is that you enter your name, the title of the book and the date it is borrowed in the book provided. There is no time limit on borrowing, but we are confident that books will be returned after a reasonable period!

Do give it a try. We’ve got some really good books!

Mary Chibnall is Librarian. Contact Mary Chibnall via the Parish Administrator on the Contacts page
