Welcome to Holy Trinity Church
South Wimbledon

Holy Trinity by Geoff HuntWe are an open, living, Christian community, seeking through our worship to make a difference in Wimbledon and the world.
We seek to celebrate and share the love of God for all; in prayer, reflection and action;
by listening, learning and growing together; through serving others and the wider world.

We welcome you to join us. We worship at 10 a.m and 6.30 p.m on Sundays. See Services for details.

David Monteith
It was announced on Sunday 5 April that the Bishop of Leicester has appointed the Revd David Monteith as Canon Chancellor of Leicester Cathedral. This senior post as a residentiary canon is focussed on developing the life of the cathedral congregation and developing the role of the cathedral as a centre of theological discourse in one of the most multi-cultural and multi-faith cities in Britain. David will be licensed on Sunday 13 September at 4pm and he will move in the summer. We are obviously very pleased for David on such an appointment but we are also very sorry to be losing him. He has served here for seven years. With the grace of God, we’ll find a good new Team Rector and meanwhile we’ll all have to pull together to carry the life of this community into the vacancy and beyond.

Diana Thornton
Revd Diana Thornton, the Assistant Curate at Holy Trinity South Wimbledon has been appointed Assistant Minister at St Mary’s Stoke D’Abernon in the Cobham United Benefice, in the Diocese of Guildford. Diana will have particular care for this church but will also work across the benefice. Diana will complete her three-year training curacy with us before moving house during the school summer holidays in preparation for starting her new post in September 2009. Diana has been an outstanding colleague who has served this parish and the parishes in the proposed team ministry with great dedication, flair and pastoral wisdom – not least during David Monteith’s sabbatical leave. We will say goodbye to Diana in July, when we will send her, Jonathan, Libby, Sam and George on their way with much love and with much gratitude. Stoke D’Abernon’s gain will also be our enormous loss.
